infrastructure of the department as part of the
proposed Endocrine Center.

The Department of Endocrinology routinely
provides cover to all the diabetics and

COVID related highlights: The department has
taken the lead and was instrumental in establishing
the national medical college (tele-medicine)
network and assisting the UP-state government in
creating and running the e-CCS network; and the e-
OPD system of the institute. On research front- the
department is partnering in studies COVID Surg
Week study- an international multi-center study.
COVID specific protocols were developed for breast
cancer management and surgery; surgical care
during the COVID pandemic and resuming elective
surgical services during/ after the pandemic.
Vision for the next 5 years: The department DEXA
plans to develop a centre of excellence for breast
