Allotment and room change process
MRA PG hostel complex:
(i) In MRA PG complex, there are no separate male or female hostels.
(ii) For research students, the vacant rooms of MRA-B/Transit hostel are offered to freshers on first come first serve basis. Room vacancy in M3 is assessed every 2-3 months, and rooms allotted to eligible PhD / research candidates based on a waiting list (according to points). If there are vacancies left in M3 hostels, it may be offered to SR / JRs.
(iii) Vacant rooms (aside from M1 and M2) are offered to new senior / junior residents (freshers) as per eligibility, based on a first-come-first-serve basis.
(iv) Room vacancies in M1, M2are assessed every 2-3 months, and rooms allotted to eligible SR/ JR based on a waiting list (according to points).
(v) If two or more applicants have the same score, priority will be given based on the date of joining at SGPGIMS. If there is still a tie, allotment will be decided through a lottery system.
Points Calculation for waitlist
Each applicant will accumulate points based on the following criteria:
Total Points: The sum of all points from the criteria above will determine the final score of each applicant.
College of Medical Technology / College of Nursing students:
Separate hostels are allotted for male and female students. Allotment is made on first come first serve basis. If there is shortage of room, then preference will be given to candidates who are from outside Lucknow, and undergraduates over postgraduates. The allotments are made on twin sharing basis. The allotte should accept the allotted room within 7 days; otherwise allotment will be cancelled. If a hosteller is found to occupying a room with less than 60% attendance per month, then allotment may be subjected to cancellation, except in special circumstances like illness or prior permission.
For room change, a counselling session will be held every 2-3 months and available room will be allotted based on points. Each applicant will accumulate points based on the following criteria:
If two or more applicants have the same score, priority will be given based on the date of joining at SGPGIMS. If there is still a tie, allotment will be decided through a lottery system.
Change of allotted accommodation. Change of room is allowed only twice during tenure of one course. Additional change of room is allowed to hostellers in emergency situations like fire / seepage/ fallen ceiling etc. with the approval of the warden. The room allotted may not necessarily be on the choice of the applicant. The provost has power to provide a resident with accessible room due to special circumstances (e.g. disabilities or a medical condition). In case of change in hostel, the resident should occupy the new accommodation within 7 days of the allotment failing which the allotment will be cancelled. Within 3 days of taking keys of the new accommodation the previous accommodation must be handed over to house keeper, failing which the provost would start a procedure for immediate vacation of one of the two accommodation occupied.
Eviction process
When the hosteller is leaving the hostel accommodation, he/she should send an e-mail to provost@sgpgi.ac.in. This helps in issue of no dues. For issue of no dues, first the hostel staff has to be contacted and any overstaying charges has to be paid. Finally, provost signs the no dues form. Failure to vacate hostel accommodation on time with or without permission shall invite levying of penal rent as applicable and / or eviction proceedings.
