Professor Sanjay Patole is a full-time clinical academic neonatologist in the 100-bed tertiary neonatal intensive care unit at KEM Hospital for Women, and a Clinical Professor at the University of Western Australia. Prof Patole is a Co-investigator of the NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence for preterm infants, devoted towards translational research, and teaching research methodology and evidence-based practice of medicine. Prof Patole holds the Fellowship of the Australian Institute of Management (FAIM) and the Center for Evidence Based Management (CEBM), Netherlands, an independent non-profit member organization founded by an international group of management scholars and practitioners to promote evidence-based decision- making and practices in the field of management and leadership. He teaches clinical leadership and management to advanced trainees at KEM Hospital.

He visited the department of Neonatology twice (February 2019 and February 2020). During his visit he took several lectures pertaining to neonatal gastroenterology, research methodology and leadership management skills.

The microarray facility conducts gene expression profiling to monitor the levels of expression of all genes in the genome. Using our technology, a single experiment allows researchers to determine specific alterations in gene expression in various disease states, or progression, following exposure to drugs or chemicals.
