It has been a very long association with Dr.Baronia, who worked with me, starting as Senior Resident and rising to faculty member in
the Department of Anaesthesiology of SGPGIMS, Lucknow.
It has been a memorable experience working with him on two important projects:
1. The creation of critical care Medicine Department, rst Academic Department in the Govt. Sector in the country which he headed
until now and provided the much needed leadership for the growth of critical care Medicine in the country.
2. Hospital Revolving fund – system to ensure Hospital supplies, a self sufcient economic model.
Many may not be aware of the facts that Dr. Baronia always wanted to spend rest of his life in the Hilly region of Uttrakhand. God
fullled his wish.
Now he is leaving to join as Principal of Medical College, Pithoragarh (Uttrakhand). I wish him good luck and good health. I am sure
his presence in state of Uttarakhand will bring sea change in the Medical Education.
