Publications

The Urology Department at SGPGI has to its credit more than 500 publications in the peer-reviewed Journals. This department is actively involved in basicresearch in a different area of urology (Uro-oncology, Uro-lithiasis, Renal Transplantation,Infertility, Paediatric urology, etc). The department has a state-of-the-artmolecular biology, Biochemistry, and stone laboratory. The research laboratoriesare well equipped with modern instrument facilities for basic research. Departmenthas also established Drosophila (alternate to animal model) research facilityfor modelling various urological diseases. Drosophila model is being used tounderstand the molecular mechanisms and development of potential therapeuticmolecules of various urological diseases. Department is involved in developinghuman resources as it runs Ph.D. courses and lab training programs. Twenty two students have earned their Ph.D.degree from the department and placed in various reputed organizations in thecountry and abroad.

Department has engaged in clinical research also and has many projects running with the help of ICMR, DBT, DST, etc.
