Facilities
The department is well equipped with a state-of-the-art Urodynamic Laboratory (DantecDuetlogic System), and an Endoscopy Suite. The department has four operating rooms, which function from Monday to Friday. Two operating rooms are available on Saturday for renal replacement therapy related surgeries like CAPD and AV fistula. One of these rooms is dedicated to endo-urology & Laparoscopy. The operating rooms are well equipped with various endo-urology and laparoscopic equipments, video systems, KTP laser, holmium laser, harmonic scalpel, state of the art C-arm fluoroscopy and ultrasonography equipment. The latest addition to department is fourth generation Da Vinci Xi ROBOT. Renal transplant unit will soon be shifted to an exclusive set up in the upcoming new Renal Transplantation Centre with an aim to meet the increasing demand for the transplant services.
Outpatient Services
The department’s outpatient services are available from Monday to Saturday from 9 AM to 5 PM (registration up to 12:30 PM, Saturday till 1 PM only). In addition, a specialty clinic (Renal Transplant Clinic) is run every Wednesday from 9 AM to 5 PM. Female and Reconstructive Urology and Andrology (Infertility and Sexual Dysfunction) clinic runs on Thursday from 10 AM to 5 PM.
Inpatient Services
The department has two wards with 48 general beds and 12 private rooms with dedicated strength of urology residents( 14-16 residents at given time) , medical and nursing staff. In addition, there is a dedicated renal transplant unit with 12 beds to cater to the transplant patients. Also 10 beds are reserved for paediatric urology patients in PSSU (paediatric superspeciality unit).
