    The department is also running Ph.D programme. Selection is based on the availability of fellowship and seat under the prospective guide.

     

    MCh

    The selected MCh trainees undergo a structured training program in various aspects of urology like general urology, endourology, paediatric urology, female urology, uro-oncology, reconstructive urology, andrology, renal transplantation, vascular access and latest addition being Robotics in urology. Each trainee is expected to have a minimum of one publication and must undergo four institutional courses like biostatistics, animal experimentation, laboratory technology, computer sciences & information technology etc. At the end of 3 years, they appear in an examination consisting of theory and practical (clinical and viva-voce) components, for the  award of M.Ch. (Urology) degree of the Institute.


    Post-Doctoral Fellowships

    Selected Fellows willundergo an advanced training in the concerned sub speciality allotted to them. The tenure of PDF is of one year duration and there is no exit examination. The fellows are expected to have at least two publications, these trainees also receive hands on training in their respective sub speciality. He/she will receive a certificate after successful completion of the training. 

     
    Teaching Program

    The department has a very active teaching program, which includes case presentations, journal clubs, seminars, research forum, statistics, morbidity & mortality meetings, inter-departmental meetings (like Uro-nephrology, uro-radiology, uro-pathology, uro-nuclear medicine, uro- radiotherapy) and clinical grand rounds. All teaching programs are moderated by the faculty and are interactive. Hours of teaching program range from 8 to 10 hours per week.
