Rangoli making has been an essential part of Diwali celebrations in our country. Students of College of Medical Technology, a Rangoli competition was organized on 8th November 2023. Director Dr. R.K. Dhiman graced the occasion and appreciated all the participants.

Speaking of the occasion, Dr. Shaleen reiterated the importance of dignity of labour. Dr Sanjay Dhiraaj stressed the need to be self inspired to maintain the clean and hygienic environment around us

To help patients with alcohol related cirrhosis, the department of Hepatology, in collaboration with psychiatry, has started the clinic. This clinic was inaugurated by Prof R K Dhiman, Director SGPGI., Dr. Sanjay Dhiraj, CMS, Prof Amit Goel HOD, Hepatology, Dr. Romil Saini, psychiatrist, all the faculty and staff of the department were present on the occasion.

Eminent faculty of National and international repute participated in the CME and shared their experiences of success and challenges. Dr. Sunil Shroff from Tamilnadu, Dr. Swanalata from Telangana, Dr Arpita from Kolkata and Dr Vivek Kute from Gujarat shared the success and challenges.

The College of Nursing, SGPGIMS organised a Workshop on disaster management, training session and mock exercise in collaboration with Uttar Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (UPSDMA) & State Disaster Response Force, Uttar Pradesh (SDRF, UP) on 9thMay2023.

It was inaugurated by the acting Director of the institute Prof. S.P. Ambesh. Surgery for Parkinson disease and Surgical Techniques for DBS were explained by Prof. Rajkumar, HOD, Neurosurgery and Dr Pawan Kumar Verma, Associate Professor respectively.

Prof. Ujjal Poddar, Head, gave an informative talk on small bowel diarrhea in children, with special emphasis on celiac disease and role of gluten free diet in its treatment

26th March, the department celebrated its 15th foundation day.

Prof. R K Dhiman, Director,congratulated the department for doing excellent work in patient care as well as research and training.

On the occasion of World Kidney Day, the Department of Nephrology organized an awareness program on 18th March at SGPGIMS Lucknow. The program was inaugurated by Prof. R.K. Dhiman, Director, SGPGIMS, Lucknow.

Dr Narayan Prasad, Head of the department, Nephrology welcomed all the guests present on the occasion.

On the occasion of World TB Day, a program for adoption of villages near SGPGI was organized on 14th March 2023 by Dr. Richa Mishra, Additional Professor in Microbiology and Dr. Alok Nath, HOD Pulmonary Medicine.

The main aim of the event was to create awareness about the disease and adopt villages for active TB-case finding.

Scientific deliberations on Alcohol associated liver diseases, drug induced liver injury, vascular liver diseases and auto immune liver disease generated a lot of interest among the participants.

Program was organized by Organizing Secretary, Professor Amit Goel under the able guidance of Professor R.K Dhiman, Director SGPGI.

The Cancer awareness program was addressed by the Director. Dr. R K Dhiman.Medical Superintendent Dr. V K Paliwal, Faculty, staff of Radiotherapy, press and media representatives attended the program. Prof. R K Dhiman and Dr. Praveena Dhiman presented the awards to the winners.

Dr. Gyan Chand removes thyroid cancer tumor by robotic surgery. It was found that the patient had papillary thyroid cancer, which could be removed by robotic method. Dr. Gyan successfully removed many lumps, including the cancerous thyroid gland, in patient's neck, without making an incision.

Director Prof. R.K. Dhiman, encouraged them to give their best as they are a part of one of the best medical institution in UP and India.He inspired them to be disciplined in their behaviour and respectful to their teachers and parents.

Prof Raj Kumar insisted on the importance of Rehabilitation which compliments a successful management of a trauma patient. The event also showcased recent advances like role of Artificial intelligence in Rehabilitation, Virtual and Robotic Rehabilitation technology and advances in management of sports injuries.
