About Department
Department of Pulmonary Medicine was established under PradhanmantriSwasth Suraksha Yojna (PMSSY) by the 59th Governing body of the institute on 12th June 2006 with the vision to impart quality services for professional excellence and commitment for sustainable development in the field of pulmonary diseases.Recruitment of its first faculty member in July 2009 led the department to start providing its clinical services and indoor servicesto the patient. In a very short span the department started accepting wide referral from the whole of eastern UP, adjoining Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa and Nepal with patients of common and rare respiratory disorder. In the silver jubilee year (2013) of the institute the department was bestowed with two new faculties to establish a young and dynamic team with similar clinical and academic background.Over the years the department has steadily grown and emerged as one of the leading speciality center of the region providing excellence in clinical, interventional, academic and research activities.

The department of Pulmonary Medicine is one of its kinds in the region committed to the patient’s well-being with its state-of-the-art services in pulmonary OPD, ward and ICU along with allied services like interventional pulmonology, pulmonary function and sleep laboratories. A team of well qualified doctors in the country is responsible for all the activities in the department.
