Courses

The Department is running MD (Pathology) and PDCC (Renal Pathology) courses on full- time residency positions for these courses. For MD presently annual intake is four students per year and for Renal Pathology PDCC two students per year.

Besides, there are Hospital Service Senior Residents (SR)who actively participate in patient care and teaching training activities.

The department also running PhD program and presently five students are registered.

Short-term observership in specialized areas are available such as Renal Pathology, Immunohistochemistry etc as per the Institute procedure for the same.

Faculty members, senior residents and MD students of the Department participate in journal clubs and seminars, which are held once a week.

Clinic pathological slide seminars (Two per week) are held in association with clinical departments, viz. Gastrointestinal & Hepatic Pathology, Renal Pathology, Immunopathology, Neuropathology, Endocrine Pathology and Urologic Pathology. Lecture/tutorials and case discussions for MD students are held twice a week.

DM/M.Ch/MD students from clinical departments are posted in the department for 2-4 weeks for training in pathology related to their specialty. Lectures delivered for the Nursing College, SGPGIMS and B.Sc./M.Sc. Laboratory Technology courses by faculty and residents of Pathology. Department regularly participates in Telepathology program held at Centre for Telemedicine.
