The Department of Neurology had its humble beginnings in 1987 with a single faculty member has grown in to a full-fledged tertiary patient care, teaching and research centre catering to patients not only from Uttar Pradesh but also from several other states and also neighbouring countries. It provides facilities for diagnosis and management of all types of neurological disorders viz., Stroke, epilepsy and seizures, muscular dystrophy and other neuromuscular disorders, Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders, dementia, encephalitis and other neuro-infectious diseases, headaches, migraine etc., It runs 4 outpatient clinics every week and has active round-the-clock emergency services, and also has inpatient beds. In addition, the department has an active teaching and research program. All the faculty members are trained in diverse sub-fields of neurological specialities, with national as well as international recognition testified by publications, awards and other laurels.
