Brief Resume
Dr Priti Elhence is Currently Professor of Transfusion Medicine at SGPGIMS. She completed her M.D (Transfusion Medicine) in 1994 and thereafter Senior residency from same department. She joined as Faculty in 2000. She has also served as Professor and HoD at Department of Transfusion Medicine at Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical sciences, Lucknow from August 2017 to May 2019.She is also recipient of Princess of Wales Award from British Blood Transfusion Society in 2003 & Trained at NBS, U.K.
Her core work areas include providing safe and quality blood component support including consultations for patients including special cases like thalassemia, hemophilia, autoimmune hemolytica anemia, aplastic anemia, hematoncology, hematopoietic stem cell transplant, renal transplant, liver transplant, critically ill patients, patients with other diseases and those undergoing various surgical procedures,Pediatric & obstetric transfusion including Intrauterine transfusions Establishment of immunohematological procedures for ABO incompatible renal transplant, Platelet cryopreservation,Component apheresis and therapeutic plasma exchanges & Advanced immunohematology procedures including red cell serology, and platelet serology.
She has been guide and mentor for numerous MD Thesis Reserach projects. She has been Faculty for IGNOU for Post Graduate Diploma in Hospital and Health Management course since 2005, Telemedicine Faculty for blood transfusion for Kabul, South Africa and other linked medical college and core faculty for NACO sponsored training courses for doctors and paramedical staff in state of Uttar Pradesh Blood Banks.
