Dr. Amitabh Arya is the 3rd MD In Nuclear Medicine in India . He is the 1st Indian to have been conferred with the coveted title of the Fellow of the Asian Nuclear Medicine Board [FANMB].
He is also the 1st Indian to have been selected for the prestigious world renowned International fellowship at the Seoul National University Hospital [ SNUH], Seoul, South Korea.
He did his MD in Nuclear Medicine & completed his Senior Residency from the Deptt. of Nuclear Medicine , SGPGIMS,Lucknow.
He worked as Assistant Professor & Head of Department of Nuclear Medicine at the Regional Cancer Center [Gujarat Cancer & Research Institute] , Ahmedabad.
He also worked as Associate Professor & Head of Department at Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research [Deemed University] , Chennai .
He worked as Consultant & Head at the Jawaharlal Nehru Cancer Hospital & Research Center , Bhopal before joining as faculty in the Department of Nuclear Medicine in SGPGIMS, Lucknow.
He is an academic expert in various institutions in India. He is a life member of many professional & social organizations in India & abroad.
He presently holds & has held various posts in professional organizations.
He is passionately involved in patient care, teaching ,publications & research for the last 30 years.
He is also involved in heritage & wildlife conservation since long & writes articles in various newspapers & magazines.
He has won various social awards for his exemplary contribution to the society. He Is a voluntary blood donor & has also donated his eyes for the benefit of mankind.
