Dr Ved Prakash Maurya completed his undergraduate medical education and training at Sarojini Naidu Medical College (SNMC), Agra. Subsequently, he completed his postgraduate training in General Surgery at Lala Lajpat Rai Memorial Medical College, Meerut, and senior residency in Neurosurgery at Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, New Delhi. He completed his MCh in Neurosurgery from Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry. After completing his Neurosurgery training, he joined Sri Manakula Vinayagar Medical College and Hospital, Puducherry, where he worked asAssistant Professor for a period of around two years. He joined the department of Neurosurgery, SGPGIMS as an Assistant Professor in June 2018. His areas of interest include, cerebrovascular surgery, paediatric neurosurgery, neuro-oncology, neuro-traumatology as well as research and scientific writing. He is actively involved in the research on cerebral aneurysms and microparticle in neurotrauma through research support from the Indian Council of Medical Research.He has received intramural grants for Craniopharyngioma and Spinal dysraphism. He has collaborative research on Glioblastoma stem cells and microvascular anastomosis.He has published more than40research papers in peer reviewed journals, about 40textbook chapters and co-edited three textbooks of Neurosurgery. He serves as a Section Editor for Neurology India and is a reviewer of several reputed journal in the field of Neurosurgery. He has delivered several invited lectures and participated as faculty in workshops on the national forum. He is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Best Paper Award in Asian Australasian Society of Neurological Surgeons- Neurotrauma (AASNS-NT) 2018, Clinical fellowship in Neurosurgery at Fukushima Medical University, Japan, 2019,Best Research Paper Award (Surgical Category) as Assistant Professor(SGPGIMS)2021,and internal membership of American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS), in 2021.
