Research Interest
My research integrates multi-omics strategies—transcriptomics, genomics, proteomics, and mitochondriomics—to unravel placental dysfunction and high-risk pregnancy complications like intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR), preeclampsia, and diabetic impacts on fetal development. By analysing mitochondrial biomarkers (e.g., mtDNA copy number, bioenergetics via Seahorse assays) and exosomal cargo in maternal-fetal circulation, we identify non-invasive molecular signatures for early risk stratification. These markers serve dual roles: as diagnostic biomarkers for predicting adverse outcomes through machine learning models on RNA-Seq data from cohorts like GEO datasets, and as therapeutic targets via signaling modulation or organoid-based interventions paving the way for personalized medicine—translating omics insights into clinical tools for improved maternal-fetal well-being.
