Shailendra S. Maurya completed his PhD in Biotechnology from CSIR-IITR, Lucknow. In his PhD, he worked on Gene-Gene & Gene-environment interaction in susceptibility to head & neck cancer in North Indian population . Then, he joined Washington University, Saint Louis in Dr Todd Druley Lab for his postdoctoral studies and there he worked on Chromatin dynamics in Infants Leukemia. Then he joined Developmental Biology division in Shin-ichiro  Imai Lab and learn the basics of Aging biology. Dr. Maurya joined SGPGIMS in 2023 as an assistant professor in the Department of Hematology (SCRC), where, as a new faculty, he is dedicated to establishing his lab in the Stem Cell Research Center, advancing research in the field of stem cell biology.
