I was delighted to join the CCM dept at SGPGI in 2015. I had a fair idea of what critical
care medicine was, or so I thought. It was only after I started working in the dept did I Toronto; Toronto; Canada
understand what is critical care in it true sense. Thanks to Baronia Sir’s efforts
(complemented by other teachers) over the years, to bring into fruition, the department No words to describe him; actually no words can describe him..!
and the robust system of critical care training as it exists today. My insight for professional life is from his words
Even now inspired by the morning academic sessions when even after all the years, “ Learning is all about decision making at the need of the hour and

through to crucial concepts. His academic rigor and discipline was amazing. He was
always pushing all of us to articulate to get to the “key clinical question/ concept”. That
line of thinking will remain the bedrock of fundamental critical care practice forever and
will remind us of Sir’s words whenever we see a critically ill patient!
Always proud to have worked in SGPGI CCM department and hope to uphold the high
standards in CCM our teachers have inculcated and fostered.
I thank Baronia Sir deeply and congratulate him and wish him the best as he moves on
to Pithoragarh Medical college. I congratulate the students there who stand to benet
from his trademark rigor and relentless pursuit of highest standards in education .
